Teaching Philosophy
I am a firm believer that students learn well from teachers they like, and learn best from teachers who love them. Following this, it is the highest priority for my classroom to be a warm and inviting environment, making students feel comfortable and giving them the freedom to learn well. Every child deserves the opportunity reach their full potential, and this includes equipping them with the tools they need to succeed for the rest of their lives. There is a time to learn and a time to play, and each is important in a developing child. Students should have a choice and say as much as possible, including crafting the rules and participating in procedures. Lessons should be enjoyable and engaging, and I believe this should be done through the collective understanding of the school family. Through the school family, we will optimize brain development, embed resilience, foster conflict resolution, promote the effectiveness of consequences, model and teach our highest moral values and shared power, and ignite the joy of learning and teaching for both the teacher and students.
